Free Life is about bringing glory to the Lord Jesus by creating opportunities for youth to put their trust in Him, and for believers in Jesus Christ to grow in their walk with Him. Our youth staff care deeply, not only about what is going on in a student’s life at home and with their family and friends, but also what is going on in their relationship with Jesus. It is not our goal to be the primary teachers of youth, but rather to come alongside parents in the God-given role of teaching their teen how to walk in the ways of the Lord (Deuteronomy 6:4-9). We seek to provide fun, safe, and spiritually challenging lessons and events that will nudge Middle School students forward in their relationship with Jesus.

Weekly Activities

Free Life: Wednesday nights 6:45 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. in the Middle School Room.

What Is Free Life? This is our Wednesday night youth group for 6-8 graders.  On these nights we worship God, play fun games, hang out with good friends, and learn more about Christ!

Schedule: Our last night of the first semester will be on December 13th and we will NOT meet the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

X-Factor Small Group: 2nd & 4th Sundays of each month 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at 115 S Madison St., Grand Island.

What is X-Factor Small Group? This is our discipleship group for 7th – 8th graders. Here is where committed students will be pushed, challenged, and stretched in their faith as we grow together and learn from each other. Our students commit to reading the Bible throughout the week in order to teach and learn from each other when we meet.

Schedule: This group will meet November 12, November 26 and December 10 for this semester.

Major Events

WinterBlast: Our winter event is a trip to Hidden Acres Bible Camp (North of Ames Iowa) for an incredible winter Bible Retreat. Solid biblical speakers, worship, and snow activities make for a great weekend get-away each year.

Hidden Acres Bible Camp
Schedule: February 2-4

Kansas City Trip: This is our “fun” get-away trip during the summer time. We take an overnight trip to see the Kansas City Royals, spend a day at World’s of Fun, and develop great friendships that can then carry over into the school year.

Fall Retreat: Our “kickoff” event each year is a weekend retreat to Timberlake Rand Camp (Central City, NE). Usually the 3rd weekend in September, this is a trip close to home that gives great, God-centered fun and worship! It’s a great chance each year for our new 6th graders to go on a trip and meet the older kids and for the older kids to reconnect after the summer.
