Getting Married at GI Free?

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!

Booking Information: Due to the volume of wedding requests we receive, we require that you are regular GI Free attenders and we ask that you submit your request for your wedding 6 months in advance. This will not only allow time for us to make preparations, but will also provide time for you to complete the pre-marital ministry program. Because GI Free understands and values the sacredness of marriage, we’ve made it our policy to require completion of the pre-marital ministry program before we can perform your wedding. We are able to hold the requested date on our calendar after you’ve filled out the Wedding Application, met with a GI Free Pastor, and after you have signed the pre-marital covenant. Wedding Process

  • Couple fills out Wedding Request/Application (this can be picked up in the church office)
  • Once the application is filled out, it is reviewed
  • Pastor meets with couple; this will be set up thru the church office
  • If approved by Pastor and Elder Board, $100 deposit requested to secure date on calendar
  • Couple is asked to sign up for our pre-marital ministry program, Merge; unless other arrangements are made by Pastor to meet for one-on-one pre-marital counseling.

Dates & Times

  • We offer Friday evening, Saturday morning, and early Saturday afternoon time frames for our weddings. On Friday evenings, the building needs to be cleared by 9 P.M. On Saturdays, the building needs to be cleared by 7 P.M. because of Sunday morning programming. This gives our facilities staff time to reset the church and classrooms for activities on Sunday morning.
  • If reception is on-site, facility needs to be cleared by 10 P.M.
  • Due to scheduling conflicts, the following dates are not available for weddings at GI Free
    • Holiday weekends; Easter (including the weekend prior), Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving
      • If these holidays fall on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday; New Years, 4th of July
      • Last two weekends in December
      • GI Free has the right to deny a wedding request if other large church event is occurring during that time

Cancellations

  • GI Free Church reserves the right to cancel your wedding if you do not complete the pre-marital ministry program or live in line with your pre-marital covenant commitments. If cancellation is needed, GI Free will refund 50% of the booking deposit. Likewise, if the couple decides to cancel their wedding, they will be refunded 50% of the booking deposit.
