An elder is “one who stands before” the church as a worthy model of godly character, conduct, and ministry.

As such, his life, testimony and doctrine are open to examination. These men are called to be servant-leaders and therefore are accountable to every member of the church. If you have any concerns relative to any elder’s character, lifestyle, or doctrine, please contact a member of the existing Elder Board and lovingly communicate your thoughts.

Our By-laws provide that Elders are reaffirmed annually and can serve up to 6 consecutive terms (6 years total) at which time they must wait one year before they are eligible to serve again. Their ministry as overseers will continue only as long as they can pass the examination process explained in Scripture. The most pertinent passages are Matthew 18:15-17; 1 Timothy 5:17-21; Deuteronomy 19:15-20.
